1. Who we are
Memmy ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile cognitive training app available at memmy.dev. Our backend is hosted at api.memmy.dev. Questions or data requests can be sent to [email protected].
2. What data we collect
Memmy has two modes: anonymous (the default) and registered (optional). What we collect depends on which you use.
Anonymous
Default
A randomly generated anonymous ID (not linked to you or your device in any identifiable way); session statistics including exercise types played, accuracy, XP earned, and session duration.
Registered
Optional
Everything above, plus your email address — used only for account authentication and account recovery. No name, phone number, payment info, or profile data is collected.
We do not collect: device model, OS version, IP address logs, advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), location data, contacts, microphone or camera data, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.
3. How we use your data
- Session statistics — to display your progress, streak history, XP, level, and leaderboard ranking within the app.
- Email address (registered users only) — strictly for authentication and account recovery. We do not send marketing or promotional emails.
- Aggregated statistics — anonymized, aggregated usage data (e.g., which exercises are most played) may be used internally to guide app development. This data cannot be traced back to individual users.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose not listed above.
4. Data storage
Your data is stored in two places:
- On your device — in a local SQLite database managed by the app (Android Room). This data stays on your phone unless you create a registered account and sync is enabled.
- Our server — at
api.memmy.dev, powered by PocketBase. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not use cloud platforms that monetize user data (no Google Firebase Analytics, no Meta SDKs).
5. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. Memmy contains no advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or data broker integrations.
The only third party involved in the distribution of Memmy is Google Play, which handles app delivery. Their privacy practices are governed by Google's own privacy policy.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Delete your account and all associated data — email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my account." We will delete your account and all server-side data within 30 days.
- Reset local progress — use the "Reset Progress" option in the app's Settings screen. This immediately and permanently clears all locally stored data.
- Use the app anonymously — the default mode requires no account and collects no identifiable information. You can use Memmy indefinitely without registering.
7. Children
Memmy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Memmy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
